Ex-Automotive CEO Luca de Meo Appointed New KERING CEO
Kering has named Luca de Meo, CEO of Renault, as its next CEO, succeeding François-Henri Pinault, effective September 15th. Ahead of the official announcement, Kering's stock value experienced a 13% surge on Monday. De Meo will step down from his role at Renault on July 15th, bringing extensive executive and turnaround experience from his latest role as well as positions at Fiat, Seat, and Volkswagen. François-Henri Pinault will continue on as Chair of the group. The decision to appoint a new CEO follows considerations by Kering regarding the separation of CEO and Chair roles, with recruitment research being led by Jouve & Associés.

Hermès Hosts "Mystery at the Grooms'" Interactive Event in NYC
Luxury brand Hermès is hosting an interactive event in New York City under the name of "Mystery at the Grooms'" from June 19th to June 29th. Registered participants enter a setup of horse grooms' living quarters, where the horses have disappeared, and must search for 5 hidden horses within a 7-minute limit in each of the 6 rooms. Participants who successfully find all the hidden horses receive a notebook and a coloring book. According to US President Diane Mahady, this free experience, which also highlights the brand’s equestrian roots, is meant to share the playful nature of the brand. Previously held in Shanghai last year, the installation is scheduled for Tokyo, Singapore, and Paris.

Hublot Returns as Official Timekeeper of UEFA Women's EURO 2025
Swiss watchmaker Hublot has been named the official timekeeper for the UEFA Women's EURO 2025, commencing on July 2nd in Switzerland. This marks Hublot's second time serving in the tournament, following the 2022 edition held in England. The competition will feature 16 teams competing across 8 host cities. Additionally, Hublot welcomed football players Ada Hegerberg and Aitana Bonmatí as ambassadors. Throughout the event, Hublot's branding will be prominently displayed, and match officials will be equipped with Hublot Big Bang e Gen3 smartwatch.

Selfridges To Launch "40 Duke" Private Club in London
Selfridges is aiming to convert 630m² of office space within its London flagship store into an invitation-only club featuring high-end dining, under the name of “40 Duke.” A planning application has been submitted for the initiative, targeting a spring opening next year. The 4th floor club will include a bar, lounge, external dining room, and a private dining room, at an expected cost of around £100 million. This planned opening underscores Selfridge’s strategy of improving engagement with its client base, while tapping into the highly popular trend of private membership clubs linked to retail brands.

Farfetch Revamps Advertising Division
Under the auspices of new owner Coupang, Farfetch is revitalizing its internal advertising division, Farfetch Advertising, to better assist brands by broadening the reach for regional sellers and enhancing growth for global ones. This paid service, like its predecessor Media Solutions, offers increased visibility within and beyond Farfetch, addressing luxury marketing challenges like complex purchasing journeys, brand equity, and safety. Launching with a new website for direct ad team access, this move follows Coupang's acquisition of Farfetch in late 2023 and precedes its announced expansion into the South Korean luxury market via integration with the R.Lux app.

Bulgari to Open Abu Dhabi Island Resort in 2030
Bulgari Hotels & Resorts has announced the development of a new luxury property in Abu Dhabi, the Bulgari Resort & Mansions, expected to open in 2030. Located on a private island off the corniche, accessible by bridge or sea, the resort will offer 60 guest rooms, including signature suites, and 30 beachside villas with private pools, in addition to a large Bulgari Villa with exclusive amenities. Dining options from international cuisines and a 2,000m² Bulgari Spa, a Yacht Club with a marina, and a ballroom are also planned. The development will feature 90 private mansions and 8 estates with private beaches. The architecture and landscape design are by Milanese firms ACPV Architects and Land SRL, developed in partnership with Eagle Hills.
