Pierpaolo Piccioli Appointed as Balenciaga’s Creative Director
Kering-owned Balenciaga has announced the appointment of Pierpaolo Piccioli as new Creative Director, succeeding Demna, effective July 10. Piccioli, whose fashion career includes roles as creative lead at Valentino, promises to bring a fresh perspective to Balenciaga. His inaugural collection is highly anticipated for October, poised to mark a significant new chapter that honors Balenciaga's rich heritage while charting a disruptive, yet culturally connected, future. This announcement follows Demna's appointment as Gucci's Creative Director in March 2025.

Aston Martin Steps Up Digital Connectivity with Apple CarPlay Ultra
Aston Martin is the first automotive manufacturer to integrate Apple CarPlay Ultra, an advanced iteration of Apple's in-car software. This enhanced system provides drivers with a more immersive and personalized digital experience, featuring real-time information, a redesigned interface with customizable layouts, and widget support. Drivers can now modify dial layouts, select instrument cluster themes, and tailor colors and wallpaper to their preferences. Essential functions, including climate control, radio, and media, are operable via touchscreen, physical controls, or Siri. This integration is now standard on custom vehicle orders in the U.S. and Canada, debuting across Aston Martin's SUV, DBX, and sports car lineups, with a global rollout planned over the next 12 months.

Nordstrom Goes Private
The Nordstrom family, alongside El Puerto de Liverpool, has taken Nordstrom Inc. private in an all-cash deal worth $6.25billion. The company will consequently be delisted from the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). This strategic move gives the Nordstrom family a 50.1% controlling stake with the remaining 49.9% held by El Puerto de Liverpool. Concurrently, Erik and Pete Nordstrom have assumed roles as Co-Chief Executive Officers, while Jamie Nordstrom will continue as Chief Merchandising Officer. The deal, valued at $24.25 per share, was priced at a 42% premium to shareholders. Founded in 1901, Nordstrom is a venerable US department store operating 93 Nordstrom locations, around 300 Rack off-price stores, and 6 Nordstrom Local hubs.

Ferrari x Charles Leclerc Drops Ahead of Monaco Grand Prix
In anticipation of the Monaco Grand Prix, Ferrari racer Charles Leclerc is unveiling a Spring 2025 capsule collection, co-designed with Ferrari Style’s creative director Rocco Iannone. The "Ferrari x Charles Leclerc" line, launched at the Fairmont Hotel in Monte Carlo, includes racing-inspired apparel like 3D embossed technical knits, tie-dye denim, and driver suits. Accessories range from fingerless gloves and sunglasses to bespoke leather trunks designed as a closet, helmet box, and watch casket. The collection is supported by an ad campaign with photographer Michael Bailey-Gates featuring Leclerc in his hometown, and will be available on Ferrari’s e-commerce site, Maranello, Milan, Rome, and Miami boutiques, and temporarily at the Fairmont Hotel in Monte Carlo.

L'Oréal Backs Chinese Biotech Firm Veminsyn
Veminsyn, a 2023 L'Oréal's Big Bang Beauty Tech Innovation Program winner, has secured a $13.8 million minority investment led by L’Oréal’s China fund and Shanghai Meicifang Investment Co., Ltd. The investment aims to accelerate Veminsyn's development of innovative bioactive ingredients, and large-scale production, as well as the use of low carbon biomanufacturing for cosmetic raw materials. This strategic partnership aims to merge Veminsyn's advanced AI design platforms and bio-capabilities with L'Oréal's scientific expertise in skin, hair, and scalp biology.

Canada Goose Posts Single Digit Growth for FY2025 with Strong Momentum in Q4
Canada Goose posted encouraging results for Q4, with total revenue rising +7.4% (+4% on constant exchange rate) to $384.6M, with gross profit up 17.8% and operating income at $55.1 million (vs. $23.1 million prior year). DTC and wholesale revenues were key drivers, growing by +15.7% and +23.2% respectively. Other revenues decreased by -14.2%. For the full year, total revenue increased +1.1% to $1,348.4 m (down 1.1% on constant currency), driven by DTC revenue growth of +5.1% to $998.9 m. Gross profit rose 2.8% to $943.1 m, expanding the gross margin to 69.9% from 68.8% in fiscal 2024. Operating income significantly improved to $164.1 m from $124.5 million in the prior year. For 2026, Canada Goose's growth strategy will focus on amplifying its brand appeal; however, due to ongoing macroeconomic uncertainties, the company will not issue a financial outlook.

Aman Resorts Expands Lifestyle Products with Tennis Collection
Aman Essentials, the lifestyle product line of Aman Resorts, is expanding with the launch of Aman Tennis Club, a tennis apparel and accessories line. Unveiled in Amanruya, Bodrum, Turkey, the collection was inspired by Aman guests' propensity for tennis as a natural fitness routine. The line features knitted tennis dresses, half-zip sweatshirts, T-shirts, and shorts in colors reflecting prominent tennis courts, with more pieces to come throughout the tennis season. Available across 36 Aman sites, it is the latest newcomer to the lifestyle product line in addition to home fragrance, skincare, and yoga accessories. Strengthening its wellness approach, Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic signed on as a global wellness adviser last August, designing a detoxification program currently offered at 7 Aman resorts.
